Our family is ready.

A child sat on Jesus' lap in the splendor of heaven. The child asked, "Is it time?" Jesus parted the clouds, looked and said, "No, not yet child." The child asked, "When will it be time?" Jesus replied, "When lessons are learned, hardships endured and loneliness lived, then it will be time." Time passed. The child asked, "Is it time?" Jesus parted the clouds, looked and said, "No not yet child." The child asked, "When will it be time?" Jesus replied, "When maturity is reached, self-worth affirmed and spirits strengthened, then it will be time." Time passed. The child asked, "Is it time?" Jesus parted the clouds, looked and said, "Their love is strong and their hearts are open. Yes, now it is time. Your family is ready." -Author Unknown

After 15 years of marriage and three children, we are ready! So...with joyful hearts we announce the referral of our daughter. She just turned 12 months old and is waiting for us in Jiangxi Province in the People's Republic of China.

Why Adopt?

To start this blog I thought I should explain how we began our adoption journey. Although it has EVERYTHING to do with having three boys, it also has absolutely NOTHING to do with having three boys. Adoption has been on my heart for as long as I can remember. Throughout the years I would bring it up periodically with Andy. He would listen, but wasn't quite ready to take the plunge. After seven years of marriage and two boys, he finally agreed to attend an informational meeting sponsored by our adoption agency. Wanting more children was never the question. The question always revolved around whether they would be born the "old fashioned way" or "born in our hearts." Fast forward two years and another son was born. With three little boys our lives were busy, but the desire to grow our family through adoption remained. Thankfully I am blessed with an amazing husband, who ultimately decided to take the leap of faith with me into the world of adoption. So here we stand today, excited to become parents again. Yes, this time to a little girl.
